Continuing the tradition established by the first two volumes from the Conferences held in 2005 and 2007, this volume contains the Proceedings of the Third Conference on Orthodox Church Music, organized by the International Society for Orthodox Church Music and held at the University of Joensuu, Finland, in June 2009. The contributions, from musicians and scholars from all over the world, cover a very wide spectrum, employing a variety of approaches and dealing with relevant questions including aesthetics, spirituality, performance practice and history, manuscript studies and notation.
